The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, multi-skilled engineer to join our Chard team in a role that offers variety, autonomy, and real responsibility.
As Site Maintenance Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our operation, ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of a wide range of specialist equipment and site infrastructure. No two days are the same. You'll tackle complex fault finding challenges, lead improvement initiatives, support engineering projects, and play a key role in driving operational excellence.
You'll work closely with production teams, contractors, and fellow engineers to deliver planned and reactive maintenance while identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and site performance.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, taking ownership, and seeing the direct impact of their work on a busy manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment and site facilities
Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime
Supporting site improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and installations
Managing and coordinating external contractors when required
Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational performance
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and engineering excellence
What We're Looking For
Electrical qualification with a mechanical understanding
Hands-on engineering and maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
Experience supporting engineering projects and coordinating contractors
A proactive, self motivated approach with the ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills and a team focused attitude
A desire to continuously learn, improve, and contribute to site success
