Business Development Lead - Defence (m/w/d)

The Role
As Business Development Manager – Defence (GNA Region), you’ll be responsible for driving new business growth within the Defence sector across the GNA region. You will identify, engage, and convert new customers while working closely with regional and European teams to successfully close strategic opportunities. Taking ownership of the full sales cycle, you’ll directly impact revenue growth, market penetration, and long-term customer relationships.
Who We’re Looking For
Key essentials:
Proven experience in business development or sales within the Defence sector, including RFP/Bid processes
Strong commercial mindset with excellent negotiation and deal-closing skills
Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts and translate them into customer value
Proactive, self-driven professional with strong accountability and ownership
Collaborative team player with strong stakeholder management skills
Skills and Experience:
Experience acquiring new customers through cold calling, campaigns, trade fairs, and social selling
Strong background in CRM usage, pipeline management, and accurate sales forecasting
Knowledge of materials engineering, metallurgy, or industrial/technical environments (heat treatment knowledge is an advantage)
Familiarity with export control and compliance frameworks (e.g. ITAR, EU dual-use regulations)
Fluency in German and English; additional European languages are a strong advantage
